Winter can be a difficult time to get motivated. When you’re used to the sunny skies and warm temperatures of Dallas, Texas, gray skies and chilly weather make it difficult for even the most productive people to stay on task. Luckily, there are many ways to improve your mood and your productivity during the winter months. We’ve made this small guide to help you get your game back at work:

Set Goals

One of the best ways to stay productive is to set goals for yourself. No matter how small or big, goals give you something to work toward. If you don’t already have one, buy a planner. We prefer bullet journals to traditional planners, as they allow you to set up goal pages that you can personally tailor to your needs. Giving yourself visual motivation is a great first step toward improving productivity.

Bring Your Own Lunch

Bring your own lunch full of healthy foods to help you avoid feeling sluggish at work. It’s often tempting to rely on comfort foods during winter. Consider choosing foods like salmon instead, which has omega-3 fatty acids that are proven to boost your mood, and small treats like dark chocolate. These can help satisfy your cravings without giving you that after lunch lull!

Keep Warm

If it’s cold in your office, it can be more difficult to stay focused. Having a warm office or cubicle can make a huge difference in productivity levels. If you’re working at home, make sure your HVAC system is working effectively and enjoy the warmth while you power through your work for the day.

If you work in an office building, consider asking if you can raise the temperature if it’s often chilly. Plus, circulating air is important for good air quality.

If you’re finding your heating system isn’t up to the task of keeping away cold winter weather, whether in your home or office, give Freedom Heating and Air a call at (214) 306-8456 to set up a consultation today!
